Mermaids in the Sand

Mermaids were just one of the many and varied subjects of the 26th Annual Coney Island Sand Sculpting Contest.

"Nothing says summer like a good, old-fashioned sand sculpture contest!"

The mermaids were joined by sea monsters, castles, the Eiffel Tower, and even Spongebob.

For all the details and photos, head on over to Gothamist, and this article by Jen Chung.

Guest Mermaid

Join Sarah Baird as she tells the tale of her appearance as guest mermaid at the Sip 'n Dip tiki bar. She also writes about the recent popularity of mermaid schools.

"Over the past several years, mermaid schools have cropped up in just about every pocket of the globe as a place for people to live out their fantasy of being an honest-to-goodness ocean maiden."

The whole story can be found in this article at The Daily Good.

Mermaid Box

Mermaid Box is a quarterly subscription box with a mermaid/aquatic theme.  Read Brandy's review at Hello Subscription.

"Mermaid Box is a Quarterly Box that will be delivered 4 times a year, so even in the winter, summer, spring or fall you can look forward to new mermaids swimming to your door."

According to Brandy's review, a donation to save dolphins is made for each subscription sold.

Best wishes and starfishes,
